The source code can be downloaded from the usual places, the NEWS file lists the changes. "Version 2.3.11 is another development snapshot before the upcoming GIMP 2.4 release. I knew there was a reason I didn't want to be one of the intrepid explorers of unstable versions - still in development. Rore (a group admin) edited this topic ages ago. You can't expect development releases such as the 2.3.x to be bug free. Maybe remember that the latest *official* Gimp version is 2.2.13

When I tried to use it with later versions of 2.3 (up to 2.3.9) I got an erreor message (too few parameter, as far as I can remember) with 2.3.11, it hangs the script-fu executable.ĭoes anybody know how to update it? It should be included in standard gimp packages. I have to keep Gimp 2.2 on my computer along with Gimp 2.3.11, ONLY in order to be able to use this script-fu. I have loved smart sharpening for a long time, but it is no longer compatible with Gimp 2.3. I also found Blur Non-edges ( /plugin?id=5089) a nice pair to this plugin. This would yield a sharp image whithout much of the noise amplification as seen above the lamp in your first photo. Then, instead of accepting, I cancel it and use the same USM settings on Photokit SS, with a 'Find edge amount' of 2 - 3. I usually fire up USM to find which settings fit the picture best, without convern to noise amplification. I´m a newbie here, but let me share with you, I liked this result for USM set at 4.0 - 1.5 - 2 for one of my photos taken at night:Įlicrisko, you really should give Smart Sharpening a shot.
